PPF FAQs
-
We only use STEK PPF products - DynoShieldSW (15 Year Warranty) and DynoMatte (12 Year Warranty)
-
We have tried, tested and used all of the major PPF brands available in the UK and believe STEK to currently be the best product on the market. They are one of the few brands that manufacture their own material. STEK also offers the best finish of all of the PPF brands, with non of the “orange peel” texture we see from other brands of PPF. It also has the best top coat being fluorine based, offering excellent protection against environmental damage but also excellent hydrophobic properties. STEK also offers a 15 year warranty - the highest in the industry.
-
We typically allow 24 hours to complete a front end or track pack package. A full car can take 3-4 days depending on its size and complexity.
-
STEK has an excellent Flourine based hydrophobic top coat in their gloss PPF, and sells a great range of maintenance products, so a ceramic coating isn’t necessarily required but we do see improved and more durable hydrophobic protection by installing ArtDeShine Nano Graphene + 7 Year Coating on PPF surfaces. We always recommend an ArtDeShine coating on Matte or Satin PPF
-
We recommend 1-2 weeks depending on the temperature and time of year. In warmer months the PPF will dry and adhere fully much quicker than it will in colder Winter months
-
All STEK PPF product are self healing. This essentially means that any light scratches or swirl marks will self level (or heal) when suitably hot - in Summer sun or a heat source is applied.
-
Coatings are designed to make your car easier to wash and maintain and good coatings will improve surface resistance to swirl marks by being slick or hard wearing, but offer no real physical protection. PPF is a physical piece of film (like a phone screen protector) designed to protect your factory paint from physical damage such as stone chips, road rash, scratches and swirl marks. PPF offers better protection but is also more expensive than a coating. A lot of people do Front End PPF and Coatings on the rest of the car for a balance between cost and protection

Yes - we use a range of patterns databases and cut our patterns in house using a Graphtec plotter. We don’t rely on a third party for kits, to install our PPF or source any cheap PPF from overseas. Our small, highly experienced team work on every car that passes through our workshop.
